The Richland County Sheriff’s Office will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Lucas Public Safety Communications Tower, located at 300 S. Union St. Lucas, Oh 44843. This event will be held on September 28th, 2022 at 10:00 am. The Sheriff will be joined by State, County and local officials at the ceremony. This project is a great example of State, County and local government working in partnership to increase public safety to the Richland, Ashland and Knox County Region by providing enhanced radio communications to first responders.
The final phase of the project will be to finalize a public/private partnership and the placement of wireless calling and data equipment on the tower. The addition of the wireless equipment will benefit both public safety and the public by providing wireless connectivity in the Lucas area. For additional information you may contact Capt. Jim Sweat at 419-774-3552 or via email at jpsweat@richlnadcountyoh.gov.
