Mansfield City Council meets Tuesday night at 7 pm and one item they will be voting on is the renaming of a street in honor of a former city council member.
According to RichlandSource.com, the legislation is to rename a portion of Johns Avenue between Harker Street and Longview Avenue in honor of Walden Jefferson, who was known as “Butch”. Jefferson spent 16 years on Mansfield City Council and passed away in January of this year at the age of 73.
