Mansfield, OH – Jodie Perry today announced that she will run for Mayor of the City of Mansfield as a Republican in the November 2023 election. Perry made the announcement in downtown Mansfield with a crowd of supporters looking on. Since 2014 she has been a resident of Mansfield where she has served as President & CEO of the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development.
“I believe we are looking at historic opportunities ahead here in Mansfield,” said Perry. “We have the opportunity to add jobs, invest in our neighborhoods and infrastructure, ensure that Mansfield is a safe place, and be good stewards of public dollars by operating on a balanced budget.”
“As Mayor of Mansfield, I will bring the vision and collaborative spirit I have used at the Chamber to help move Mansfield forward,” said Perry.
Since joining the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development in July 2014, Perry has established a strong reputation for bringing people together to tackle local challenges. She oversaw the affiliation with the countywide economic development organization, Richland Community Development Group (RCDG) in 2017, which has focused the efforts to bring higher-paying jobs to the community. Perry is also a co-leader of the Mansfield Rising project, which established a Downtown Improvement Plan back in 2018 and has been instrumental in several of the recent revitalization projects downtown.
Originally from Rochester, NY, Perry is a graduate of Ashland University who has spent two decades leading Chambers of Commerce in two states. In those roles, she has demonstrated a strong ability to improve the culture of an organization to make it into a thriving hub of community activity. Prior to that, she worked in campus ministry with the Navigators and on Capitol Hill for the Senate Banking Committee.
The position of Mayor of Mansfield is on the ballot in 2023.
