The Ontario School Board this week voted to continue to employee substitute teachers this school year and next, who do not hold a bachelor’s degree due to a shortage in substitute teachers.

According to RichlandSource.com, Ontario Superintendent Keith Strickler said the flexibility has been helpful during the shortage and allowed some quality people to get involved in the school district.

The requirements to be a substitute teacher are you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with passing a background check and interview process.
