The Richland County Commissioners are already receiving, what is known as mid-year budget submissions from various county departments, as they look ahead to next year.
Right now, those figures are showing submissions to be just under $44 million, which is 10% higher than projected revenues, according to auditor Pat Dropsey.
This is not uncommon, but Richland County Commissioner Tony Vero said, it is concerning because sales tax revenues have been on a downward trend and that makes up between 55 – 60% of Richland County’s General Fund revenue.
