The news came out late last week that a local company from Crestline, R&D Excavating, will handle the demolition and cleanup of the former Westinghouse “A” Building in Mansfield.
RichlandSource.com reports, Commissioner Tony Vero said, choosing a local company means Ohio dollars being spent on Ohio companies and contractors. It wasn’t the only factor, but it was an important factor. Vero also pointed out, R&D Excavating has worked on a project this size and they did it well and can handle this.
The bid still needs approval from the Ohio Department of Development, who is supplying a $3 million grant toward the project.
