The Richland County Land Bank on Friday received bids from 11 companies to demolish and cleanup the former Westinghouse “A” building on 5th Street in Mansfield. One of the bids for the $4 million dollar project came from as far as Canada.
RichlandSource.com reports, only one bid came from a local company in Richland County, which was from R and D Excavating. Two bids came from Ohio companies, while 8 bids came from outside the state.
Richland County Commissioner Tony Vero said the lowest bid was $2.8 million, while the highest just over $7 million. As of now, the work needs to be complete by next summer and the Land Bank could meet in the next week to possibly award the bid.
