The “road closed” sign just before entering Downtown Ashland from Claremont Avenue will remain — at least for another month. According to Ashland Source, Ashland City Council unanimously approved a contract modification worth $325,000 to the Claremont Avenue bridge replacement project, a feat that began in April with an initial price tag of $1.3 million. Officials estimated that small yet heavily traveled section of Claremont Avenue would reopen by the end of August. Now, that estimate has been pushed to the end of September.
