Final C-130 Retires At Mansfield 179th Airlift Wing, Cyber Mission Coming

The 179th Airlift Wing in Mansfield recently shared that the final C-130H aircraft will retire, as the base moves into its new role, which is a cyber mission. The 179th chosen as the first cyber wing for the National Guard, which Col. Darren Hamilton said, this now secures Mansfield and its future as a vital contributor for the defense of Ohio and the nation.

The C-130 aircraft will be on display in northeast Ohio at the Military Aviation Preservation Society, which is located in North Canton.Ā Ā The National Guard had been flying planes in Mansfield for more than 70 years.
