The Mansfield Fire Department, just like everybody else, is watching their gas budget closely.
The department uses gasoline and diesel fuel for their vehicles and trucks. The fire department budgeted 31% more for fuel in 2022, compared to last year in 2021. Through May of this year, information released by the Mansfield Fire Department shows, they have spent 31% more than it did through May of 2021.
The department bus their gas wholesale, which is an overall cost saver, but the department feels they will be very close to budget toward the end of the year.
