For the third time this summer, Richland County Engineer Adam Gove, will advertise for bids for chip and seal work on county roadways.
Previous bids were not accepted because they were more than 10% above the estimated cost, which is now allowed by state law. RichlandSource.com reports, the County Commissioners gave the ok, which has saw the mileage reduce from 20 miles to 9, due to the rising cost of materials and gas. Gove says they have a short window to get the work done, which he says is the middle of September.
