The project to chip and seal more than 20 miles of roadway in Richland County may not happen this summer, according to RichlandSource.com.

County Engineer Adam Gove said for the 2nd time in a month, a bid had to be turned down because it came back more than 10% over the estimated cost.

The only bid came in close to $87,000 over the estimate. Gove said the price of stone has now gone up and he decide soon if the project can be done this year because it’s getting late in what he called the” bidding season”.
