There was talk this week at the Mansfield City Council meeting about fireworks.

A state law takes effect in July that would allow fireworks in Ohio on various days around holidays unless a local government takes action to regulate or ban them all together.

RichlandSource.com is reporting, it looks like Mansfield is moving toward a continued ban of Fireworks after hearing from Mansfield Fire Chief Steve Strickling, Captain Dan Crow and Police Chief Keith Porch, who all are in favor of keeping the ban on fireworks.

A possible $1,000 fine could be worked into the legislation, which Council is expected to vote on June 21st.
