The owner of the former Kingsgate movie theater on Park Ave West, which has sat vacant for more than 20 years, has asked the city of Mansfield to extend its demolition order by several months.
RichlandSource.com reports, Skilken Gold has appealed the order from the city last month, which said it needed to be torn down within 30 days.
The company will meet with Mansfield’s planning commission Tuesday afternoon and ask for the deadline to be extended until December 4th, citing there is not enough time to do the work in that time frame. Skilken Gold, also says the option is still there to bring the building back up to code by December.
