Madison Township – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian and a 2016 Nissan SUV. The initial report was called in at 9:30 P.M. and described a pedestrian walking on US 42, between the US 30 ramps, in Madison Township.
Neil Miller, age 72, of Lexington, Ohio, was walking on US 42 and had entered the northbound lane of travel. Aaron Leonard, age 40, of Lexington, Ohio was northbound on US 42 and struck Mr. Miller.
Madison Township Fire and EMS responded to the scene along with the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. The Richland County Coroner’s Office also responded and pronounced Mr. Miller deceased.
The crash remains under investigation.
