A Demolition order has been issued by the city of Mansfield for the former Kingsgate Movie Theatre on Park Ave West.
The inspection in late April showed a failing grade in nearly every category, which showed the structure, is unsafe and unsanitary. The report stated excessive mold, issues with the electrical and plumbing systems, along with damage to the building in terms of cracks in walls and overall in poor condition.
The building has sat vacant for more than 20 years and recently the owners reached out to the Richland County Land Bank about the possibility of some help to demolish a portion of the property, which was constructed back in 1964.
