State Rep John Supports DeWine's Plan of Demo/Remediation for Westinghouse

COLUMBUS – State Representative Marilyn John (R-Richland County) is thrilled to announce that a $4 million grant will be awarded to help with the demolition and remediation of Westinghouse building “A”.

This funding was made available by the Ohio State Operating Budget, which Representative John supported with a house vote some months ago. Within the Operating Budget, $500 million was set aside for demolition and brownfield remediation projects throughout the state.

“The Westinghouse building has long been standing in Richland County and is now beyond its life,” said John. “It is great to see Governor DeWine committing these resources to make Richland County a better place.”

Governor DeWine was at the Westinghouse property Tuesday, April 26 to announce the first round of Ohio Department of Development funding.

Of the funding made available for projects like these $368 million is still available for local governments on a first come first serve basis. They must provide a 25% match for any projects after the guaranteed funds are spent.
