The Mansfield Division of Police patrol officers responded to the 700 block of King Street at approximately 2:42PM in reference to several 911 calls involving a shooting. Upon arrival, a black male gunshot victim was located at 720 King Street Apt. #7, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to the upper body. The gunshot victim, a 15-year-old Black male, was transported to a local hospital by Mansfield Fire EMS personnel where he later succumbed to his injuries. No one is in custody at this time and Major Crimes detectives and patrol officers are working to find out what led to the shooting as well as to identify a suspect. This is an active and fluid investigation and additional details will be released once they are available.
