The Mansfield Post of the highway patrol is investigating a crash that took place along I-71, which saw a car catch on fire.

The incident happened on Sunday night just before midnight, when a woman from Stark County said she was hit from behind by a white Ford SUV.  The woman and her child were not injured.

The vehicle that hit her went down an embankment and hit a concrete barrier, according to RichlandSource.com, and then it caught on fire. A witness says the driver and passenger of the vehicle exited and got into a car, which then headed South down Ohio 13.

The Washington Township Fire department responded to extinguish the flames. The incident remains under investigation.
