The Richland County Commissioners have given the OK to spend $70,000 at the county wastewater treatment plant.
According to RichlandSource.com, the money will be used to buy generators, so when there is a power outage, the pump lift station on Ohio 39 will continue to operate and not have sanitary overflows.
Richland County wastewater treatment director Amanda Miller said her department has 6 lift stations that do not have generators and they have to bring in portable generators anytime there is a power outage. The Commissioners plan to use money from the American Rescue Plan for the generators, which will take about a year to be delivered once they are ordered.
