Ashland Police officers are expected to be wearing body cameras by this summer, according to RichlandSource.com.
The total cost is around $25,000 for the department to have each of its 32 officers have a body camera, which includes software and a charging station.
Ashland applied for a grant last year, but was not one of the more than 100 police departments that received funding. The Ashland PD has been testing the cameras for about a month and will apply for another grant, but plans to begin the program even if they do not receive grant money.
