Commissioners Moving Ahead With Project For Richland County 4th Courtroom

In Richland County, the Commissioners are moving ahead with the project to add a 4th courtroom at the county courthouse.  RichlandSource.com reports, the plan to use lost revenue funds via the American Rescue Plan.

The extra courtroom was needed first because of space due to COVID-19 requirements, but also because the increase of jury trials. Commissioner Tony Vero said it could take up to 2 years before the project is complete, as County Administrator Andrew Keller is starting the process to find an architect to design the 4th courtroom, which judge Phil Naumoff called a “necessity”.
