Despite the snow and cold weather, crews in Shelby are moving along with the Whippets new athletic complex that on Friday saw the new scoreboard installed. The board will be able to show video at football and track events at the new facility, which will see new turf going in this summer. Brand new LED lights were put in place last week and prior to that the bleachers and press box arrived at the school toward the end of 2021. The Whippets plan to play their first football game on the new field on September 2nd.
