Shelby senior point guard Sohpie Niese has been selected as the "iHeart Radio Athlete of the Week"
Sophie scored 16 points, dished out 8 assists, had 5 steals, 4 rebounds, 4 blocks and 2 took charges on defense - ALL of this in one game for the Lady Whippets, who finished the regular season perfect with a record of 22-0. Shelby is ranked as the #1 team in the state of Ohio in Division II and opens tournament play on Wednesday, February 16th with their quest to win their first district title since 1999. Sophie Niese just signed her letter of intent to play college basketball next year at Ashland University.
