Mansfield Asked To Contribute $1 Million To Cleanup Westinghouse Properties

Mansfield City Council this week was asked to contribute $1 million dollars to demolish and cleanup the two former Westinghouse properties in town.

RichlandSource.com reports, the request came from Richland County Land Bank Board Chair Bart Hamilton, who is also the county treasurer. Hamilton saying that with the state funding available in Ohio’s two year budget, you won’t get a deal this good again to tear down the Westinghouse property at about a 75% discount.

The request is for Mansfield to spent $1 million dollars over an 18 month period. A vote by council is expected next month.
