Mansfield was listed among the cities which will receive grant funding for the implementation of Project Safe Neighborhood, according to a press release last week from Sen. Sherrod Brown's office. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has awarded two grants totaling $512,082 to the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) for the implementation of Project Safe Neighborhood in the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio. According to Richland Source, Project Safe Neighborhood is designed to bring together federal and local leadership to identify the most urgent violent crimes facing a community and develop a comprehensive solution to address these problems.
