Podcast: Shelby Plans To Play Final Game At Skiles, First Game On New Field

High School football - In Shelby, plans are now in place for the Whippets to play their final home game at Skiles Field next year on August 19th in Week 1 and then play their first game in the new Whippets Athletic Facility on Sept 2 in Week 3 vs Bellevue. The new press box and scoreboard have arrived with the new turf going in this summer.

Shelby Superintendent Tim Tarvin said the reason they are moving up the timeline is because of the poor condition of Skiles Field and its home stands, which are becoming a safety problem. Tarvin said the have big plans for the final game at Skiles and are excited then to open the new facility, nearly a year ahead of schedule.
