In Ashland, City Councilhas approved $150,000 dollars to purchase land downtown, which could be the site of a new building for the Ashland Public Transit Department.
According to RichlandSource.com, the vacant land is located at the intersection of Third and Union Streets.
The plan would be to construct a 14,000 square foot building, which would hold the transit systems fleet of 10 vehicles. The cost would be around $1 million to $1.5 million dollars, which Ashland is already in the works to apply for a grant through ODOT.
Right now, Ashland Public Transit is located on the first floor if the city building.
