As a result of numerous tips from the public, as well as the completed Ohio BCI examination of forensic evidence collected at the scene by Detective Adam Turner, the Shelby Police Department has identified Zachary Price, age 30 as the individual who committed the robbery of PNC Bank on 11-23-2021.

Price was positively identified on 11-29-21 and a warrant for Robbery was approved by the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office and filed with the Shelby Municipal Court, by Det Turner.

Due to conflicting information regarding Price’s whereabouts and out of concern for public safety, The United States Marshal’s Service, Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force was contacted and requested to apprehend Price. The Shelby Police continued their investigation and evidence gathering into the offense, in cooperation with the Mansfield Office of the FBI and the Mansfield Police Department.

As a result of their fugitive investigation, Price was located on 12-6-2021 at approximately 10:00 AM in Columbus, Ohio by the United States Marshal Service and taken into custody. Price will face an extradition hearing in Franklin County before being released to our custody.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Mansfield Office of the FBI, the Mansfield Police Department, and the US Marshal’s Service. Without their cooperation and assistance, we would not be at this critical point in this investigation, and would certainly not have the suspect in custody as quickly as we did.

There will be no further information released at this time.
