In Richland County, the Commissioners approved 1.3 million in construction cost for a roundabout.
It will be installed at the intersection of Cook Road, Illinois Ave and Mansfield-Lucas Road. 90% of the project is being paid for through a state safety grant
Commissioner Cliff Mears said roundabouts may not be popular but they are safer.
This is the 2ndone that will be built in Richland County, as Mansfield built one back in 2012 at the corner of Straub and Middle-Bellville. Work will begin next year.
