Update at 12:00 pm.
Power was stored in Shelby around or just before noon on Friday, after a city wide outage that left residents without power for nearly 10 hours. No exact cause has yet been announced.
The entire city of Shelby is without power, according to mayor Steve Schag.
An early assessment believes the issue is at the substation and power is not expected to come back on until sometime around noon or early afternoon.
The Shelby City Schools, along with the Pioneer Career and Technology Center, due to the power outage, are closed for Friday, November 12th.
