Council Approves Mansfield Police Mobile Camera System

The Mansfield Police Department has a new piece of equipment, which Chief Keith Porch calls a “Force Multiplier”.

The Mansfield PD has a mobile camera system, which is similar to the one the Richland County Sheriff’s Office has, which will give the department an eye in the sky, as the unit extends 22 feet up into the air.

Right now the unit is in downtown Mansfield, but can be moved around for parades or anything event.

According to RichlandSource.com, the cost of the 3 year lease is $70,000 and it will be paid for by American Rescue Plan funds.
