An income tax levy could be in front of voters in Mansfield next spring, which would fund a new public pool.

According to RichlandSource.com, the plan is to build a new aquatics center at Liberty Park, where the pool there has had to close early each of the last two years due to maintenance issues.

The project is part of the Mansfield overall Master Parks Plan, which was given approval by council last year.

Mark Abrams, Parks and Recreation Superintendent said there is an issue with a buried water line at Liberty Pool, which opened way back in 1938.

Legislation is in the works for a 4 year,.25 % levy.
