The forecast today is calling for temperatures around 80 degrees, but officials in Ashland County are talking winter.
RichlandSource.com reports, Ashland County has 3.600 tons of salt for use on county roads in the coming months. A normal winter sees the county use between 4,000 and 5,000 tons. The county will be able to buy another 3,500 tons from ODOT at $46 per ton if that need arises. Anything beyond that will cost around $68 per ton from a company out of Kansas.
