The Richland County Commissioners this week voted to take $3.2 million dollars of the county’s COVID-19 relief money from the American Rescue Plan and use it to make up for lost revenue from last year.

RichlandSource.com reports, County Auditor Pat Dropsey explained the process and what percentage of the money can be used for lost revenue.

The Commissioners mentioned some of the funds could be used for road repair, but have not mention exactly what it will be used for.

Richland County in total will receive more than $23 million dollars from the Federal government through the American Rescue Plan.
