Lucas Schools Considering New K-12 Building

The Lucas Schools could be on the ballot next spring to determine if they will build a new school.

According to RichlandSource.com, the district held a community meeting earlier this month to share information about possibly constructing a new K-12 building. If voters gave it the ok, Lucas would receive funding through the Ohio Facilities Commission. A new school would cost just over $34 million, but the state would cover $8 million of the funding. The cost to maintain the current buildings in the district, which are aging, would be $31 million.
