Lexington will require masks beginning Monday when the school district is back to in-person learning. This comes after the School board voted this week 3-2 in favor of the masks to be able to keep kids learning in the classroom.
Lexington has been on remote learning the last two weeks due to COVID-19.
Last year, the district had 155 positive cases in 9 months. This year in just 3 weeks of learning, the district had 113.
Superintendent Jeremy Secrist believes the mask requirement will maintain staff levels and keep students in the classroom with in-person learning.
