A 47 year old Ashland County woman died in crash in Knox County.
The highway patrol said Melanie Pierce of Perrysville failed to yield from a stop sign and was hit by a 63 year old man from Mt. Vernon. The vehicle driven by Pierce went off the road and struck a tree. She went taken to the hospital and later passed away from her injuries. The man from Mt. Vernon suffered minor injuries.
The crash took place on State Route 3
