More security looks like it’s on the way to the Richland County Jail.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Office is applying for a state grant of $212,000 to add a new fence around the facility.
Captain Christopher Blunk, told RichlandSource.com, the 8 to 10 foot high fence will have razor wire at the top and provide a layer of protection to staff, jurors and civilians. There will also be a camera for security and the hope is to get approval by the fall.
