Ashland County Treasurer Concerned About Identity Theft

Ashland County is set to receive $10 million dollars in COVID-19 relief from the American Rescue Plan, which could see half of that money arrive any day.

According to RichlandSource.com, Ashland County Treasurer Angie McQuillen told the county commissioners she would feel safer if they purchased an identity theft policy for her.

This is because McQuillen had to use her own personal information: social security number, driver’s license to apply for the funds. Richland County Auditor Pat Dropsey also expressed his concern over using his own personal information to request the money.
