MANSFIELD, Ohio — Congratulations to Lieutenant Shawn Yerian for completing the Executive Fire Officer Program (four-year program).
As a student in the Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program, he pursued a professional development path that spans four years, taking one course per year. Each class is two weeks and is held at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, MD. After each period, you must complete an Applied Research Project (ARP) related to your organization within six months.
Participating in the EFO Program provided an opportunity to view issues in the fire service far beyond Ohio. No other fire education institution can offer such a unique curriculum that brings fire service leaders together to learn, discuss, problem-solve, and ultimately, make a difference in their community.
The graduation was held virtually with Chief Steve Strickling, Assistant Chief Mark Sieving, and Lori Cope - Mansfield Safety Service Director
