Mansfield, Ontario Sign Joint Sewer Contract

The city of Ontario and Mansfield signed a new wastewater treatment contract this week, which could last up to 30 years.

According to RichlandSource.com, Ontario can opt out after 10 years. The two cities have been negotiating about it for the last 3 years.

Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker feels it will be beneficial to the whole community. Ontario residents will see a 3% increase with the new agreement. Ontario, prior to signing the contact, was looking into possibly building their own wastewater treatment facility. Mayor Randy Hutchinson calling the plan with Mansfield more cost feasible.
