Mansfield City Council this week voted not to implement Garbage zones in the city.
RichlandSource.com reports members of council said residents were not in favor of the idea. Council president David Falquette said there were nearly 50 letters opposed to the idea, while another member of council stated he heard nothing positive about it. The vote wasn’t scheduled until April, but it was moved up due to so many people opposed to the idea.
The vote was 7 – 0 against the proposal of installing Garbage Zones that would have divided the city into 5 sections, so trash would only be collected 1 day per week in people’s neighborhoods.
