Most of the great Mansfield area saw between 6 and 8 inches of snow, according to Richland County Sheriff Captain Donald Zehner.
Some area's got more because they stayed all snow, while others saw a little sleet and freezing rain mix in during the night.
Zehner, who spoke live with WMAN in the morning Tuesday, said a level 2 snow emergency was issued around 10 pm for Richland County and roads will improve throughout the day as the plows are able to reach the side streets and secondary roadways.
There were no serious accidents reported, according to Zehner as of 7:40 am Tuesday. He told WMAN that the Sheriff's department 8 vehicles stuck, where deputies help push the vehicles out of the ditch. Mansfield Police had 11 people slide off the roadways, but no serious crashes. The State highway patrol locally responded to 23 incidents of people getting stuck or sliding off the road. Five of those were just minor accidents, while one was a minor injury accident.
Crawford County went to a Level 3 Snow Emergency, while Ashland and Knox Counties reached a Level 2 advisory. Those are expected to be lifted once the roadways are clear later today.
