AU Bachelor of Science Education 23rd In Nation, 1st For Private Schools

ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University’s Bachelor of Science in Education program has been ranked 23rdnationally among all schools by Best Value Schools, and first among private colleges and universities.

Ashland also was tops among all Ohio universities, either public or private.

Best Value Schools is an online platform that ranks colleges and universities and their programs, both in person and online. To come up with this list, the editors looked at yearly tuition and the school’s graduation rate. To come up with each school’s final rating, the yearly tuition rate was added a multiplier equivalent to the percentage of enrolled students who did not graduate.

“The Dwight Schar College of Education is deeply committed to support those who want to become teachers. We are very proud of our varied pathways to teaching that include our partnership with Lorain County Community College, our presence in Columbus, and our Eagle Opportunity Program. Our students demonstrate greater ‘grit’ than students from our peer institutions as noted by area superintendents and national assessments,” said Dean Dr. Donna Breault. “Our 99 percent pass rate on state licensure tests clearly shows that students get the individualized support they need to thrive in their future classrooms. It is no surprise that we are the best value in private institutions in the country and one of the overall best values in the country when compared to all public and private institutions.”
