Latest Shelby COVID-19 Update Reports 2 Additional Deaths

The Shelby City Health Department is reporting COVID-19 activity over the past 48 hours with a combined total of 7 new cases (general population and long-term care facility population) -as well as- 11 recovered/resolved cases (general population and long- term care facility population).

The Department has documented a total of 720 individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 since the outbreak began in March. Of that cumulative number, 667 individuals have attained recovered/resolved status.

The Department is currently monitoring a combined total of 25 active cases (combined total of general population & long-term care facility population) with 0 individuals hospitalized.

There have been 28 COVID-19 deaths documented from within our jurisdiction. (5 from general population and 23 from long-term care facility).

Richland County remains under a Level 3, Red status and citizens are strongly urged to stay at home when possible and to follow all COVID-19 protocols and Health Department guidelines, including: frequent and thorough hand washing, careful sanitization, strict physical/social distancing (whether inside or outside of the home), and the consistent wearing of face coverings.
