New Radio Tower Coming To Lucas Should Improve Cell Phone Coverage

A new tower is in the works to be installed in the southeastern part of Richland County, which should help cell phone coverage in the Lucas area.

According to RichlandSource.com, the 300 foot digital radio tower would go up inside of the Village of Lucas on South Union Street. The tower could be up and running as soon as this summer.

The Richland County Commissioners this week gave the OK for engineering work at the cost of $150,000.

A state grant will cover the tower’s $400,000 price tag.
