Release from Richland Public Health
We had a glitch today in our COVID-19 vaccine registration process. The toll free number that we, and several other Local Health Departments, were using for registration was overwhelmed with calls and their phone lines crashed.
The good news is we did a great job getting the vaccine information out. The bad news is that all the other vaccine providers in town were also overwhelmed.
It appears that all our vaccine doses have been scheduled for the coming week. But this is not the only week that seniors age 80 and older can get their vaccine. Although we add the age 75 and older group next week, anyone 80+ is included in that group.
Until all Richland County providers get a larger allotment of vaccines, scheduling will continue to be difficult. Please be patient. We want to make sure everyone who wants a COVID-19 vaccination can get one.
