Ashland In Better Shape In 2021 Than Finance Director Thought In Summer

Ashland finance director Larry Paxton says the city is in better shape starting 2021 that he originally predicted last summer because of CARES ACT funding.

According to RichlandSource.com, Paxton said this is because of the $1.4 million dollars from the federal government in relief aid. Ashland started the year with just over $1.7 million in its general fund, which is slightly lower than where it started 2020 at just over $ 2 million. Paxton said city council and the administration did a good job of developing the COVID-19 business relief program.
