26 Year Old Knox County Man Arrested After High Speed Chase

A Knox county man that eluded police back in November was taken into custody after a high speed chase.

RichlandSource.com reports, 26 year old Matthew Adams, originally fled from police in Mt. Vernon after a high speed chase back 6 weeks in November, but authorities found his van that had a gun inside, along with methamphetamine and property confirming his ID.

Adams, which had a warrant for his arrest, was spotted over the weekend in Fredericktown at a gas station. He led police on a high speed chase and then again fled on foot, but was arrested after being spotted in a wooded area by a highway patrol helicopter.

Adams, who was wanted on 5 charges, will now likely have further charges against him. He was taken to the Knox County jail and will have a bond hearing in Knox County Court.
